Chick

Jay, this swim will be one for the record books, due to the extreme degree of difficulty involved with not only making the swim across the Mississippi, but doing it handcuffed, shackled and blindfolded. I can't wait to see you take on this challenge and blow it out of the water (pun intended). I will be on the shore cheering you on, with no doubt in my mind that you will soon be standing on that opposite shore with your arms raised triumphant, adding this swim to your long list of accomplishments. I am also convinced, that you, having completed this swim, will inspire so many people to greater accomplishments in their own lives, no matter what their current circumstances may be. What you are doing to raise money for our wounded warriors by doing this swim is admirable to say the least, and it will certainly bring an awareness to the needs that these wounded and disabled heroes have. I know that they would be so proud of you, and thankful for all that you are doing for them.

Bill

I know you can do it! You will be in my prayers.

Jay Platt

Thanks Bill! I promise you I will put in 100% effort, and thank you for your prayers.

Jay Platt

Thanks Chick! Your friendship, support, and belief in me mean more to me than you may realize.

Lydia

Are you crazy? jk. Good luck! :)

Jay Platt

A little bit. And thanks! :-)

Sam

How will you swim without your arms and legs?

Jay Platt

Thanks for your question, Sam. My answer? Very carefully! LOL! Seriously, there is a way (using a modified dolphin kick). Check out www.EscapeFromAlcatraz.com to see me doing something similar.

John

I have no doubt you can do this Jay. Good luck!

Jay Platt

Thanks John! I will swim as hard as I can. I guarantee you that!

John C. Anderson

On my fiftieth birthday, in 1994 I swam across the Mississippi River from Moline, IL to Bettendorf, IA with my hands cuffed behind my back and my legs shackled.

I didn't do it blindfolded, but I'm sure I could.

Jay Platt

Well, that is awesome.
